English/ Maths Workbooks FAQs:
1. How do I get hold of LCB workbooks and which level do I need?
You can purchase the ones you would like on this page (above). There is a free downloadable sample giving you an idea of where the workbooks are pitched too, to gauge difficulty level. Typically Entry level is accessed by KS2/3 and Functional Skills is more KS4 and above, but this is not set in stone. Meet your learner where they are at. Purchase workbooks at multiple levels if necessary to let them access a bit of both so they can decide what feels right.
2. How do LCB Education workbooks support exam preparation?
Our workbooks are designed to align with the exam syllabus, offering practice exercises, and real-life scenarios to reinforce learning and build confidence for the exams.
3. How do LCB Education workbooks support the AQA Unit Award Scheme (UAS)?
LCB Education workbooks are designed to align with the AQA Unit Award Scheme (UAS) by covering relevant topics and skills, ensuring learners are covering all the content for each unit. They include exercises that reinforce key concepts, progress checks for tracking achievements, and the flexibility to tailor learning experiences to individual needs, allowing learners to earn additional certification through the AQA UAS if they wish to.
4. How can learners claim AQA Unit Award certificates with workbooks?
Complete units inside a workbook (answers can be checked at the back), and then submit a digital PDF copy to our education team for marking, feedback and certification claims. Our education team will organise for certificates to be claimed from AQA (the awarding body) and sent out to you at the ed of that academic term.
5. How much does it cost to submit workbooks for certification?
Entire workbooks can be submitted for £49 per workbook here, individual units can be submitted for £25 per unit here.
6. Can anyone submit English and Maths workbooks for AQA Unit Certification or do you have to be registered with LCB Education?
Anyone can submit workbooks for certification. Simply upload the workbook, pay the fee, and we will handle the rest. If you are on an EOTAS package, there is no extra charge, and workbook units can be submitted here

1. What are Functional Skills Exams?
Functional Skills are practical skills in English and Maths that are essential for everyday life and work. They help learners develop problem-solving skills and apply them in real-world situations.
2. What topics and levels will be available?
Functional Skills cover essential topics in English and Maths, available at levels 1 and 2, to cater to different learning needs and abilities.
3. How much will it cost?
The cost for accessing Functional Skills exams has not yet been announced. We are committed to making these as affordable as possible, with additional options for families in need of extra support too.
4. How will it work?
Learners will be able to take exams with us remotely when they feel ready to sit Functional Skills tests. These can be booked and scheduled from the comfort of your own home and will be submitted for certification directly to the awarding body (TQUK).
Can I access reasonable adjustments for exams?
Yes. There will be access arrangements available for learners with EHCP. We offer various adjustments, such as extra time and assistive technology, to ensure equitable exam participation. There will be more information on this soon.
